Getting Modernism Right
This new construction home in LoHi is the latest "Listing We Love."

Getting modernism right is very hard. More than anything, modernism is about function over form. But, it's also, generally, about minimalism. Bad framing can't be hid behind crown molding. The cabinet faces have to be flush to the countertops when there is no bullnose. The tile has to be laid perfectly flat when the tile itself is made of glass.

It gets even more complicated when trying to create the open spaces so important to the modern lifestyle. When the dining room isn't framed by columns, the space plan has to be meticulous.

It takes great care and patience, and we couldn't appreciate those qualities more. So, you can imagine our delight when we first saw 3224 Zuni. Geesh, what don't we love? The fireplace set in glass? The floating tub? The art in the courtyard? The abundance of light? The glass backsplash behind the stove? The frameless shower? The bar off the kitch? The answer is none of them. We love all of those things.

And, just as much, we love the listing broker, Dee Chirafisi. There's no one cooler working in the business today.
